With great joy and emotion, we were in Tripoli and attended the events organized with great success by the Municipality of Tripoli both in the city and in the wider area for the 200 years since the “Fall of Tripoli”.
The celebrations were attended by the President of the Republic Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, who in a statement after the laying of wreaths referred to the importance of the anniversary for the nation and the state, emphasizing the following: “The decision of Theodoros Kolokotronis to overthrow the administrative and military center of the Ottomans proved to be of great strategic importance, after consolidating the Revolution in the Peloponnese, reviving the morale of the Greek rebels … We honor our ancestors, who with their unquenchable desire for freedom fought hard to shake off the Turkish yoke”.
We attended the event from the welcoming space of the “Grand Chalet” restaurant, which is a very high-quality proposal for an all-day space in the city of Tripoli.
